Have you tried a Meal Delivery Food Service?

With life being so busy between being a mom, work, podcast, blog and just life in general, I have seasons of serious cooking ruts. It is incredibly time consuming to first think of meal ideas, look up unique recipes, then go to the grocery only to find that you have no idea where to find that random ingredient, next prep the 12 different ingredients required, cook (and because I have picky kids and 2 with different allergies I end up making 3 different meals every single meal) … then the dreaded clean up because the recipe called for 5 different types of pans. Now every once in a while I get inspired to go through all of that, but for the most part, this cycle is exhausting.

When I kept hearing all the commercials for meal delivery services, I thought I’d look into them and give them a try. There are so many different companies out there and I’ve tried a lot of them.

Here are 5 reasons love food delivery services -

1. It’s easy - you choose meals, they get delivered right to your door.

2. It saves time - everything is pre-portioned and some are even pre cut/prepped

3. They give multiple meals to choose from and offer a variety of options for organic, allergies, healthy, vegetarian and even breakfast, lunch or smoothies.

4. Gives me ingredients that help me get out of my same ol’ flavor profile.

5. Flexible scheduling that you control if and when you receive meals.

I’ve found 2 food delivery services that I really love for completely different reasons.

First up Home Chef. Chris and I really like this one, it’s the one he’s always made comments like “I’d order this again”, or “Keep that recipe card so we can make this” The meals comes packaged in a box with ice bags and everything inside is recyclable! They send easy recipe cards with pictures of each step and how long it will take you to prepare. The ingredients are pre-portioned with little prep work and most take no more than 30 minutes. Unlike some of the food delivery services that take you completely out of your food comfort zone, most of these recipes are familiar home-cooking recipes. This is one service that Chris is always happy with the portion size. And I’m consistently in the clean plate club with Home Chef.

This Sesame Beef with steak and edamame is going on our rotation for life! I could never make the sauce in this dish, whatever they are serving, we are devouring.

And these Korean Pork Tacos were out of this world!

This is what the website looks like when you are choosing how many meals and when you want them delivered...

When you use my >> Home Chef referral Link << You get $40 off your first delivery!

Next up FRESHLY. When this delivery came I was surprised because I was expecting a box like the other delivery services. These meals are different in that they are individual size microwave meals. But not like what you’re thinking you buy in the freezer section at the grocery. These are healthy and so stinking delicious. I mean, does it get any easier than piercing the top and popping in in the microwave for 2-4 minutes?!

Here are a few meals we shared last week...

Here's a snapshot of meals you can choose from Freshly, these ain't your mommas frozen meals :)

dm me your email and I can send you a referral link for a Freshly discount!

Overall, I think these services are worth a try. Good for those of you who have a busy week coming up and don’t have time to prepare meals, Or those of you who just simply can’t cook, lol. And for you all who just need to get out of your ordinary dinner rut. Hope this helps you look like rock star chefs! Let me know if you try a Meal Kit Delivery service.
