Friends, Let’s talk about Lashes & Mascara! There are so many variables to finding the right mascara for you… Do you prefer longer looking, thicker/fuller lashes or falsie looking lashes… or all of the above? My personal preference is a mascara that helps with length. And FYI - I use Rodan + Fields Lash Boost which gives me longer lashes, its a product I think every girl should try! But even with my length, I need mascara because my lashes are blonde.
For years I have been loyal to Benefit They’re Real mostly because the formula stays all day and I love their plastic brush bristles to helps reduce clumps. However, recommendations from girlfriends and constant mascara ads keep me curious to try new products. For the past few months, I’ve been trying a few different brands so I could write a review to help you find your perfectly matched mascara.
My best friend has been a raving fan of Lancome for as long as I can remember, so of course curiosity forced me to run to Sephora and get a tube. I chose the Hypnôse Drama Lengthening Mascara. I am very impressed with how this formula accentuates my length as well as giving my lashes volume. It also lasted all day and evening. The only downside for me at least was this curved wand because it is a tricky application to avoid clumps. I found that before it dried when I ran a lash brush through my lashes I got a better result. Overall, Hypnôse Drama performed really great and far better than a store bought brand.
Speaking of store bought brands, I was totally sold by an Eva Longoria Loreal mascara ad for the Voluminous Million Lashes product. It touts a collagen infused formula for volume. I heard this and was like, yes -> collagen <- I need it everywhere in my face and on my lashes! The brush has those little plastic bristles that I prefer too. I liked it but I can’t say I loved it. However, if you’re in a pinch and you need to grab mascara at the grocery - This one will definitely do the trick.
Then I saw on one of my girlfriends post on instagram that she too has been a loyal Benefit mascara girl until she found Thrive mascara. I followed her link and ordered it from instagram that moment. Directly from the packaging -- Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara is powered by Orchid Stem Cell Complex™ to promote long-term growth + Flake-Free Liquid Fiber Technology™ that combines buildable fibers and Korean plant extracts to add dramatic length + curl, creating the glamour of faux-lashes without the glue. This formula is unlike anything I’ve tried on my lashes, It’s almost like it creates a tube around each individual lash and lengthens for the look of false lashes. The brush has tiny spaced out bristles and when you take it out of the tube it suctions out to close the tube which keeps the formula from drying out. I am also impressed how when you wash it off, no smearing at all, I just slides off each lash. Ah-mazing! The tag line is Luxury Beauty that gives back so overall mission & giveback purpose officially has me as a lifetime customer! “For every Thrive Causemetics product purchased, on is donated to help a woman thrive. Thrive delivers products + services to women experiencing cancer, homelessness, or domestic violence by giving to hospitals, organizations + events around the world.”
Ladies -- If hope this helps you explore a brand that works for you, or at least encourages you away from your comfort zone of using the same old brand you're used to. My suggestion? You must try Thrive Causemetics!
Cheers to lashtastic lashes,
